Kristy Valshan

I’ve been accused of worshiping Jeanine Baechtold and Jen Reed! Well maybe I have been a bit. After all they are my favorite designers (which you can see by looking at my popular tags list). Once they found out about my “worshiping” they asked if I would join their CT. I immediately said yes!

Here is a layout I made using their newest Christmas kit at Kristy Valshan. It’s call Yuletide. I love how they use the traditional Christmas colors with classic black and white. You wouldn’t normally think they would work well together but Jeanine and Jen did a fantastic job!

Camping Trip

Here are some layouts from Liam’s first camping trip back in July 2006:

Credits: Vintage Dreams by Lori Barnhurst and Michelle Coleman, Little Dude by Jeanine Baechtold, Refresh by Scrap Girls, Lucky Star by Gina Cabrera, In Memory of Miles by Electric Team, One Fish Two FIsh by Kristin Bents and Merek Davis, Atomic Cupcake

Journaling: If I had to chose my favorite men from all the world, I would not chose an actor, a model or any one famous. My favorite men in the world are my husband and son. No one can stand up to them. I love them more than life it self. Sam and Liam keep me going each day. They make me smile. They make me laugh. They make me happy. I can not image a life without them in my life. My wonderful men, my heroes.

Journaling: Hello from Ft. Fisher! We are having a great time. Liam loves playing in the sand, as evident in the photos. He is a little afraid of the water but hopefully he will get over that fear before our 4th of July camping vacation is over. Candace

Interests Meme

My friend Jamie chose seven of my interests for me to explain. Well actually it started on LiveJournal where, I guess, they have a list of interests in their profiles. Since I didn’t have a list he just selected seven of my most popular tags. If you comment on this post I will pick seven interests for you to blog about.

Here goes:

adsr: ADSR stands for Amazing Digi Scrapping Race. I participated in the 2nd season this past August. I teamed up with Jodie Smith. I really enjoyed all the challenges. You can read more about this here. Here is some of the layous I made for the race:

atomic cupcake: Atomic Cupcake is a website that offers many Photoshop actions geared towards scrapbookers. I end up using one of the actions in most of my layouts. My favorites are the paper tearing and chipboard actions.

japan: Is where I lived from October 8, 2004 to Januay 7, 2006. We were stationed at Yokota AFB outside of Tokyo. I loved it but I was missing my family so much that I didn’t realize how much I loved it until we left. My first child was born there. The people of Japan are very nice and friendly. They are honest and hardworking.

jeanine baechtold: Jeanine Baechtold is my favorite designer and I work with her at RAKScraps. She is in my tags list because I use her designs most often in my layouts, along with Jen Reed’s designs.

liam: My first born. My son. My life! I could not image my life without him. He is everything to me. I scrapbook more about him than any other subject.

rakscraps: RAKScraps is my favorite digital scrapbooking website. I am also on the elements, sponsor, and events team there. I host a monthly Elements Challenge there along with contributing to the Mega-Kit.

scrapbooking: This is what I do all day… scrapbooking. I love to scrapbooking whether it’s paper or digital. You may have noticed my blog is mostly about scrapbooking! Why do I love scrapbooking? Well because I get to design, craft and preserve history which are all things I enjoy to do.

Camera Snatcher

Since the start of the Sketch Challenge at RAKScraps I have always participated each month. I think it really helps me be creative, especially since lately I have always tried to alter the sketch a bit to make it my own, in a way. So here it the sketch I had to work with:

Sketch 9

and here is what I came up with:

Credits: Summer Sensations from ScrapDish (papers, buttons and journaling block by Jeanine Baechtold, paper clip and stitches by Krista Mettler), sketch by Robin Cabana.

Journaling: You enjoy trying to take the camera from me when I want to take your picture. I end up with lots of photos of your fingers and inside your nose!

As a child I had so many goals set for my future career. I wanted to be an artist, an author, a director, an astronomer, an architect and/or an archaeologist. Now they seem like silly careers to chose. Although I enjoy drawing I was never a very good artist. I love to write, but I have bad grammar and rarely finish a story. I don’t even know the first thing about being a director and I am not outgoing enough to do it anyway. I am very bad at math and remembering formulas so astronomer and architect are far fetched. And have no patients for archaeology. But now I have reached an even better goal in life. I have a husband that I love. A very adorable and smart little boy who depends upon me. And I have my scrapbooking which I am slowly turning into the ideal job while still having the best job of being a stay-at-home mom. I have traveled to Italy, France and Japan. I am happy with my goals today. They are real and include growing and nurturing my family.

This layout was made for the 4th challenge in the Amazing Digi Scrapping Race!
