Boys Will Be Boys

Credits: Little Men Collection by Mary Fran at NitWit Collections, Sketch by Robin Cabana

Journaling: You like to wear your pants in the revealing and silly style of young “hip hoppers” who like to wear their pants too low and their boxers too high. I found it amusing but I will not find it so when you are out of diapers. Let’s hope your grow out of this phase very soon!

Memories

How about I share a layout featuring me as a child?

Credits: A Lil’o This, A Lil’o That by Sara Amaria, sketch by Robin Cabana.

The pictures are of me. The large one is when I was 1.5 years old and the second photo I am 27. Still look the same ;)

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Now if you have breast then this is something you support. This is something that affects to many women and their families.

So now you are wondering what you can do to support the cause? Well you could donate money to the Susan G Komen for the Cure.  But maybe you don’t have the money to donate. So you could buy Think Pink products or anything that contributes to the Susan G Komen for the Cure. Still no money? Help help spread the word. That’s easy enough. Better yet if you know someone who has breast cancer or has lost someone to breast cancer you can do something for them. A person who is fighting cancer could use help with meal, household chores, or just someone to talk to. A family that has lost someone could use support, comfort and maybe help spreading the word about what breast cancer can do.

So what am I doing for the cause? Well I have no money (does anyone have a job for me?) and I don’t know anyone personaly to help. So I am spreading the word in my blog as best I can.

If you are a digital scrapbooker you may be interested in knowing the RAKScraps monthly mega kit for October is all about women.  You can get it for free at RAKScraps. They post one or two links every few days and are only available for a few days. To get the complete set on CD you can also buy it at ScrapDish.

(my contribution to the megakit the one 2 rows down 2 column over with the support ribbon)

Also available at ScrapDish is the Mega Kit Addon and Quickpage Album:

From the ScrapDish website: For the month of October, RAKScraps will be donating all sales of the October Mega Kit (minus fees) to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research in honor of Robin Cabana’s aunt and grandmother, who are both survivors of the disease.

So all sales of all of the above will be donated to help breast cancer research. If you are thinking of buying them you better hurry. They are only available for a limited time.

Camera Snatcher

Since the start of the Sketch Challenge at RAKScraps I have always participated each month. I think it really helps me be creative, especially since lately I have always tried to alter the sketch a bit to make it my own, in a way. So here it the sketch I had to work with:

Sketch 9

and here is what I came up with:

Credits: Summer Sensations from ScrapDish (papers, buttons and journaling block by Jeanine Baechtold, paper clip and stitches by Krista Mettler), sketch by Robin Cabana.

Journaling: You enjoy trying to take the camera from me when I want to take your picture. I end up with lots of photos of your fingers and inside your nose!

My favorite poem of all time is The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. I wanted to make a layout about my love of this poem so here it is:

Credits: September 07 RAKScraps Mega-Kit (orange paper by Cathy Rose; stitches by Christy Heins; leaves by Candace Duffy Jones) and Addon (light tan paper by Rachel Dickson; photo corners by Robin Cabana; button, button thread, button tie, and ricrac by Kim Jensen)

Journaling: The first time I read this poem it immediately became my favorite. That was 15 years ago and I have come by many choices. I have always thought of this poem. I would always choose the path I truly wanted. It wasn’t always the easiest but it made my life richer and more meaningful to me.

The Road Not Taken

by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I–
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference
